Experience Is Everything
Chris' career in motorsports began in 1979 and led to a 22 year driving career, which saw him win races in four decades. He has competed worldwide in such legendary events as the Indy 500, 24 Hours At Daytona, 24 Hours Of Lemans and the 12 Hours Of Sebring. In 1992 Chris was enlisted to create the Mid-Ohio School, widely regarded as one of the top training programs worldwide for the instruction of high-performance and competition driving skills.

Chris served on the National Board for Prevent Child Abuse America from 1994 through 2001.

He was also an honorary board member of the Starlight Children's Foundation, founded by Emma Samms. This foundation assist seriously ill children and their families through entertainment and education and family activities. Other board members included Michael Jordan and Carole Bayer Sager.

In 1990 Chris competed in the Foot Locker Slam Fest with Gold Medallist and world record holder Mike Powell, world record holder Mike Connelly, NFL great Deon Sanders, Rod Woodson, Anthony Carter, Ed "too tall" Jones, Tim Harris, Keith Jackson, Erik McMillan, Tim Brown, Randall Cunningham and MLB stars Ken Griffey Jr. and Ellis Burks.

In 1984 Chris won the Most Outstanding Athlete award from the National Fitness Council in participation with the President's Council For Physical Fitness & Sports. He beat out a variety of world-class athletes to win this award.

After winning the Rolex 24 Hours At Daytona overall in 2001, driving for the legendary Corvette Racing, Chris began his tenure as Race Director for CART / Champ Car. Chris brought a new level of talent, sophistication and technology, which helped usher in a new era in Champ Car. As Race Director, Chris became the first regular participant from the United States with the FIA Circuits Commission. These experiences uniquely qualified Chris as the most experienced course designer and event manager in motorsports today.

Chris rewrote the rule book for Champ Car, ushering in a new era of safety and excellence. He also is the author of the instruction manuals and the entire curriculum for the Mid-Ohio School.
